I was looking for a rod that did a little bit of everything well, and the 734C fit the bill. I did not want to have a one dedicated rod for jerkbaits, topwater, etc. I prefer to have rods that are more utilitarian. Not only is it beautiful to look at and well made, but it is comfortable in my hands and allows me to fish for almost any presentation.

this was one of my first rods over the 200 mark and this was a do it all rod. I was flipping, pitching, cranking, blades, and more with this rod. the dobyns 734 is still on my boat today
