Whats the diameter at where the reel would clamp on? Comparable to a calstar rod?

The actual diameter of the rod is 1.07. The circumference is 3.375 / 3.14 = 1.07, the width of the butt is 1 inch. There is no reel seat, so you can balance out the set-up. You can use tape, clamps, or you can search for a deck hand reel clamp.
