Sturdy construction, but questionable quality
May 29, 2019
This rod is very strong and puts good pressure on the fish, but the guides like to break if any corrosion builds up. The first one I had broke a guide off, and got a free replacement without difficulty. The second one did the same thing, only this time it happened at the tip. Luckily, I was able to fix it with some electrical tape.

Another weak point applies to the conventional- specific types of this rod. Since I have the conventional rod, the reel has to be bolted on. After a few months of usage, the material of which the reel is secured onto is dissolving, and cannot stay in place when fighting big fish. I expected more out of this rod considering it comes with a 5 year warranty. Stick with the spinning version, and stay away from the conventional version.
Pros
  • Strong e-glass construction
Cons
  • Weak guides, cheap handle material.
