The tip actually didn't break, but the tip guide slide out of the rod. Poor workmanship? Or because of lower grade IM7 graphite. Anyway, you got what you paid for.

- Cheaper and weaker. Workmanship is not there. Warranty also shortened to 1 year. Price for some reason is around the same as Emblem, Emcast, Beefstick...
- If you are looking to keep a surf rod for years, look for others that offer lifetime warranty.
