Remodeled for 2020, the Daiwa Tatula SV TW103 Baitcasting Reels further refine the Tatula SV to provide the ultimate experience in controlled finesse baitcasting. The Tatula SV TW103 is quite simply the lightest, most compact, and most controlled baitcaster in its class. By combining both their patented SV Spool and Airbrake technology within their compact, comfortably palmable 100 size Tatula frame, Daiwa has given anglers the ability to harness stress free casting like never before. These two features work together to minimize backlashes while allowing the reel to achieve extreme castability by using both magnetic braking and centrifugal braking technology. This means efficient casting of lightweight lures, easy skipping of baits across the water's surface, worry free casting into heavy winds, and overall superior performance in other difficult casting scenarios. The Daiwa Zero Adjust spool allows for fine adjustments to spool tension, while the T-Wing level wind system opens up line feed, enhancing line management to ultimately achieve longer, more accurate casts. Formed around a rigid aluminum frame with a sleek, stealthy matte black finish, the Tatula SV TW103 is available in a full range of gear ratios to compliment a diverse array of popular bass fishing techniques in both left and right-hand retrieve. With all these features packed into the renowned Tatula 100 frame, its easy to see how the Tatula SV TW103 may be the most advanced edition to the Tatula legacy yet.

Great all around reel
July 20, 2021
If you have used the older model of this reel you know how great of an all around reel they are. This is a nice update on the older reel for those that want a little smaller frame. It is still just as smooth and casts just as well as the original, but now palms a little better for those with smaller hands.

Fantastic finesse reel
March 12, 2021
This is a fantastic reel for finesse fishing. The SV spool and air brake system makes casting light baits a breeze, and also makes casting into strong winds no problem at all.
Mine has also stood up extremely well to use in saltwater as well. Recently did some maintenance on mine after heavy saltwater use and not a single sign of corrosion inside the reel.

Leave Backlashes in the past!
May 6, 2020
Daiwa has done a great job with all of their SV TWS reels. I've used the Zillion series in the past but I thought I would try a step "below" (I shouldn't even describe it like that) and go with the Tatula series. This reel performs just like my zillion's and is packed into a much smaller form factor! If you have trouble with backlashes then this reel is for you!
Pros
  • No backlashes, long casts!
Cons
  • None

What rod do you recommend pairing this reel with for "multipurpose" bank and kayak bass fishing?

For the price you can't beat the St. Croix Triumph Casting Rods.
