Like the sealine 12 foot for all kinds of surf and jetty fishing. No rubber butcap is a minus.

My advice is to match overall weight and action to your intended use. I pair with lighter 4000 class reel to throw lures and spoons. Useful on the jetty to have the rodtip out over the rocks, but unwieldy retying line and etc. This pole is light enough in all respects to fight spotted bass and bonito/mackerel without overpowering the fish. Too heavy to throw jerkbaits or anything requiring finesse. But bonito splasher rig with 5 foot leader is easy to throw with 12 foot length.

This is a long casting rod with MH action, light enough to cast without tiring and throws a one ounce metal spoon easily.

I purchased it with 15 ft , the advantage of that rod you can control it well and you can cast longer

I have the 15 foot spinning rod.. The top half of the rod is very flimsy while the bottom half is too stiff. This rod is so very heavy that it tires your arm after the second cast and it kills your arm when you try fighting a big fish. The only pros for this rod are the great super long casts it gives (but requires much effort), and daiwa's well balanced rod sense. Daiwa somehow managed to get the heavy rod balanced perfectly for casting. I wouldn't recommend this rod, try the tsunamis which are closely priced and much better.
