I am looking to build a light setup around the Saltist MQ 2500. I target trout, flounder, and reds in the backwater. Given that I cant feel the combo, which rod combo do you think would be the most balanced? Is there a better rod you would recommend for this combo?
1 Answer
Hi Ryan, Based on your fishing application I would recommend a St. Croix TRIS70MF Triumph Inshore Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-tris70mf-triumph-inshore-spinning-rod.html This would pair and balance nicely with your Daiwa Saltist MQ 2500 for inshore backwater fishing applications. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

What Daiwa spinning reel would pair with the 7’6†mh rod? Will be casting plugs , soft plastics, and jugs to Striped Bass in New Hampshire inshore waters.
1 Answer
The Daiwa BG 4000-5000 size is a good real to start. You should also check out the Daiwa Saltist and the Daiwa Eliminator.
