Great Casting & Wonderful Action
August 13, 2022
There is a lot to love about this lure.

It's the best casting lure i've seen in it's weight range. I can chuck out the 6 inch version (1 1/4 oz) as far as the Rapala Long Cast 14 lure which weights nearly 2 oz. It has a very enticing action.

Obviously, it's only as good as the species that are around, as it's quite a large lure. It doesn't dive deep so you will have to let it sink if you want to work more bottom areas.

I love the floating version so I decided to give a sinking a shot. Works pretty good, but swims funny. Still likely to catch fish.

Great action
May 7, 2022
Great action, casts great due to beat design. Hooks and split rings need to be changed out as they get bent up easily on big stripers or blues.

Hi Ryan, Based on the fishing application you described, I would recommend the St. Croix SES90MLMF2 Seage Surf Spinning Rod. Specifically Model: SES90MLMF2; TD Code: SCR-2184. https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-ses90mlmf2-seage-surf-spinning-rod.html This rod will work great for throwing Daiwa SP minnows. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

1 Answer
#1 size hook for the 6" and 3/0 for the 6-3/4". I was not able to find the split ring size for the 6-3/4", but the 6" has 50lb. split rings.

What size is good for casting distance
1 Answer
Size depends on what you are fishing for and how you are fishing. The heavier and bigger the lure is the further it will cast. If you are looking for distance but are casting a smaller lure, distance depends on rod length mostly.

What is the best way to rig this bait? A coast-lock swivel or line knot on the split ring.
1 Answer
Some of us use a Tactical Angler's clip and some use a loop knot. Different strokes for different folks.

How do you pick a color? Are certain colors better then others?
1 Answer
It is better to try and "match the hatch". Go with colors that are similar to those of the bait in the area. In your area for example, there maybe Boston Mackerel or Pollack around. So I would go with colors similar to them. On the other hand white, black, and yellow are always good too.

What are the different uses between the floating and sinking? Fishing for Stripers?
1 Answer
The floating is for when bait is holding near the surface, The sinking is for when the bait is suspended in the water column.

What are the different applications for the floating verses the sinking? I'm fishing for Stripers. Thanks
1 Answer
The floating will stay on the surface, for when bait is on top. Sinking is for when bait is holding deeper in the water column.
