This is by far the best reel I have ever owned, extremely smooth casting and retrieves with a perfect gear ratio for a myriad of baits and a powerful enough drag to not worry about having a big fish wrap you up.. 5 stars all the way

I'm very satisfied with my purchase of the Daiwa Ryoga Shrapnel baitcasting reel. This reel is one of the most smoothest reels I've used in a long time. The build quality and performance is similar to the Shimano Calcutta Conquest series of baitcasters, but the Shrapnel is built for bigger fish with it's larger spool capacity and bigger crank power. Let's not forget about that engaged levelwind, (I LOVE THAT THING) for casting purposes it lays and releases the line perfectly across the spool, AND EVERYTHING CLICKS!
