With the Daiwa Regal LT Spinning Reel, Daiwa looks to bring the benefits of their LT Light and Tough concept to anglers of all levels. This most recent generation of the Regal line sheds significant amounts of weight while increasing toughness and performance by implementing proprietary technologies found in reels well beyond the Regal's price point. The use of a True Carbon Frame provides the same rigid support as conventional materials while making the reel lighter and more compact, while the addition of Daiwa's signature Air Rotor System reduces weight and improves rotational balance. Anglers can expect silky smooth performance thanks to a 9 ball bearing design rarely seen in reels this affordable. For those looking for a workhorse reel built with advanced features at an unprecedented value, the re-engineered Regal LT will exceed expectations.

Daiwa Technology Found In Regal LT Spinning Reels :

  • LT Concept - The LT family of reels boast a smaller, lighter, more compact body which is paired with a larger gear for the ultimate combination of Light and Tough.
  • Air Rotor - The Air Rotor weighs up to 15% less than ordinary rotor designs. Its unique shape reduces unnecessary weight while distributing stress more evenly throughout the rotor for maximum strength.

This is a great little inexpensive reel. It's super smooth with its 10 bearings and the 2500 is a great little trout reel. I do wish they came factory with carbon drag washers instead of felt but hey, you can get a set of carbontex washers for $8. Would I buy another one? Absolutely!!!
Pros
  • Lightweight but stoutly built, inexpensive
Cons
  • Felt drag washers but that's an easy fix

The Daiwa Regal line have many years in the market.
I have one model 3500 5iA, of the ten or twelve years ago model that come whit two spools and was a very good reel.
That new model have 13.22LBS/6Kg drag and a gear ratio of 5:31.
This new version ( LT 3000D-CXH) have a half of the weight, 22LBS/10Kg drag, and a gear ratio of 6.2:1.

The price now are basically the same I paid more than 10 years ago.
For strong tropical fresh and salt water shore fish its a very good choice specially if you use braid line.
If you take care and clean and lube the reel.

Pros
  • Price, drag force and and the 7.6OZ weight.
Cons
  • Whit very strong fish, like barracudas and tarpon have a little flex.
  • But this is a fresh water reel, I put in extreme conditions...

These reels punch WAY above their weight. I didn't want it to be smoother than my Supreme xt or Revo S but I can no longer deny that it is. Got the 2500D XH for my Dad (2-3 outings a year) so I went with a less expensive reel than normal as it wouldn't be heavily used. To my dismay the Regal LT is smoother and has a stronger drag than my reels that are 3x the price. I don't love the deep spool though, make sure u fill to recommended capacity as failure to do so will result in limited casting distance. Aside from slightly less casting distance this reel is every bit as good as the other two mentioned. It's lite at 7.4 oz and strong at 22lb drag. U can't go wrong for $60!!
Pros
  • Strong, lite, fast, inexpensive but quality
Cons
  • -10 yards casting, deep spool isn't necessary

I bought the regal lt 2500d-xh a year ago and loved it so I thought I'd give the 3000d-cxh a shot and I'm glad I did...Very smooth, smooth , smooth!!! I have it paired up with a 7'6 ugly still elite and it's awesome for the walleye and smallmouth river fishing I do..I love the Pleuger president also but the Regal is as smooth and faster..Highly recommend it's a can't miss at the price!!
Pros
  • Light feel, smooth and fast retrieve...great price!!!
Cons
  • Only thing is I wish Daiwa would include a manual in the box..also instructions on how exactly to use the plastic washers to adjust line lay on the spool...awesome reel otherwise..

Best 10 bearing spinning reel in it's price range. Has the smoothness of the more expensive reels. Give it a look. You will like it
