Was trying to get a Presso for the longest time.Finally, one became available on TR. I absolutely love this rod! Paired with a Daiwa Tatula 1000 and 8 lb. braid, this think casts a mile with a very light lure. My go-to for small stream fishing.

After 1 year of using it in saltwater catching bream,horse mackerel and even bluefish i am very happy with the performance of the rod.Rod tip is very sensitive but it has enough power to catch even bigger fish. ~2kg (4.4lbs)

Light and comfortable

I have the 7'6" UL. I use it for mostly pan fish and trout. I can cast a 1/64 mini jig with it but not too far. 1/32 jigs would be the ideal jig weight you can cast. Rod is light and well balance. You can't get anything better for its price. If you want to spend more then stick to your g Loomis and st croix or even phenix rods but you'll be spending a ton for the same

Bought it. Busted tip on a pumpkinseed. A pumpkinseed!!!! Replacement. I figured ok no problem. Second time. Small channel cat. The whole rod snapped in half. I have had two g loomis rods for over 20 yrs!!!! Never experienced garbage like this before. I will never buy a daiwa rod again. I got ripped off by such trash. Daiwa. 20$ to replace garbage. Screw u

The rods line rating is wrong in my opinion. Should be rated as a 4 to 8 lb rod, too stiff for 3 to 4 lb line for protecting light line, better 6 lb rod I think. Nice finish and light for the money. i will use it for trout, steelhead and surf fishing.

I finesse fish in both fresh and saltwater and this rod has the sensitivity for light baits but with the strength to handle larger fish.

I got the 6'6, 2 piece rod. This rod feels great and is very lightweight. Personally I think rod is too flexible for a Fast Action rod. Feels more like a Moderate Action rod.

The Daiwa Presso rods are one of the best rods I have used while trout fishing the rivers here in Tasmania.. I now have 2 x 6' & 1 X 6'6'' of these rods and wouldn't use any thing else for my trout fishing.
They are a beautifully well balanced rod and go well with the different Daiwa reels that I have set up on them. Highly recommend there rods..

I purchased the 8' model, intending to use it for American shad duty. My previous top rod, a 7'6" ultralight, dubbed "the Shad Extractor", was the benchmark I measured my other gear against. That rod was unrivaled in the presentation aspect of the game - casting distance and drift control - but its greatest failing was the end game. I had a hard time subduing the fish once I brought them in close. Daiwa's Presso Ultralight doesnt' have that issue. For a slim rod, it has plenty of muscle, allowing me to lean on the fish at a distance as well as in close. I wouldn't say this rod is superior in terms of sensitivity, control, or casting distance, but neither is it lacking - it performs about as well as the other. Although it is rated for lures down to 1/32 oz, I'm skeptical that it will cast those any appreciable distance; the rod loads well enough with 1/8 oz lures, but I don't expect to be able to sling 1/16 ozers very far. I would choose this rod or any other long, fast-action ultralight over a noodle rod in a heartbeat, for the kind of fishing I do - casting from shore. I will say that it appears well made, carefully constructed, and I appreciate the hook keeper. Neighboring anglers on the water thought I had a G.Loomis. Heh heh.

finesse at its best. drop shots come out perfectly with this rod. i have 2 different lenghts for this rod, great price too

wacky rigs and drop shots, the actions come out nicely with this rod. u cant go wrong with it. very affordable as well.

I have been waiting to get a new ultra light to hit the water in the kayak with this summer. It is quickly becoming my go to rod for about everything.

I've been using the rod for several weeks. It sets up quickly and joins firmly - and stays that way in use. The light weight is really impressive. I find the action a little stiff for throwing light, soft, live bait, like small worms of grubs, something that I resort to in mid summer. On the other hand, it's just right for setting the hook, and for casting very light plugs, spinners, and spoons. The length helps when bucking a headwind.
