Strong lightweight rod

I have this paired with a slammer 3 6500. This rod has backbone to turn fish. Caught few inshore groupers useing plugs and live bait. Can cast live bait and plugs far with no wind knots while casting in the wind. Lightweight rod so you wont get tired casting or holding it all day.

I have this rod matched up with a penn slammer 7500 the reel just fits. I am thinking the penn slammer 6500 would be a better match. I fish party boats and they want heavy line. I have 500 yards of 65 pound j braid with an 80 pound leader. It is a very nice looking rod the tip seems thin but if the taper is right that should not be a problem when a nice Yellow fin hits it.
Pros
  • Feels very sensitive. Rated to be able to cast Halco 130s
Cons
  • 8 feet 1 piece wish they split it at the butt.

I'm looking for a setup to fish from shore for rock fish. Also close to shore from a boat using swim bait. I really would like a dark blue colored rod and real if possible.

Only dark blue colored rod would be the shimano teramar paired up with a twinpower
