Great replacement for penn regiment

Just got the (7 ft. 6 Medium 8 - 17 lb) rod as a replacement for my Penn regiment (same rating) that broke last year, and it is amazing. just what i wanted for fluke and schoolie bass. already caught 22 inch fluke and it handle it flawlessly. The fuji guides they use are stiff and strong much better then the Penn. I highly recommend it for fluke on the shore or jetties

- handel a little short compared to my old Penn regiment

I’m looking at both the proteus northeast and the Daiwa backbay.....is there much difference in the two rods? The 76 med heavy 1/2 -1 1/2 is the same specs.....could you maybe explain the greater cost? Thank you

The Daiwa Proteus rod utilize a Cork & EVA Hybrid Handle with laser etched D-Vec Daiwa logo, a genuine FUJI Reel Seat, and FUJI Alconite Ring Guides with k-shape tangle free frames. The Daiwa Back Bay has Light and sensitive extra-fast blanks with loads of backbone, one-piece cork handle, and FAZ LITE tangle free ring guides.
