Best inshore flats rod for the money
April 25, 2019
The 7'6 MFS is pretty much the perfect inshore rod. The blank has a good fast tip (about the first 1/3 of the rod) and good progressive backbone. The handle length is great too, when working a top water, the rod just gently bounces between your arm and side, that simple and you're walking the dog. When casting light lures the butt of the rod is just in the right natural place for your hand, The rod loads really well and lets you get good power into the cast to launch light lures a country mile. It handles big fish very well, with enough tip and bend to keep small hooks set , with plenty of backbone to put pressure on big fish. Honestly this blank is very close to the action of the 7'6" Loomis e6x. very close, for less than half the money.I'm very satisfied with this rod, so much so I bought 2.
Pros
  • weight, action, fuji reel seat, cork grips, handle length
Cons
  • possibly the guides, They have ceramic inserts ( which i like), some like the SS guides fro inshore / corrosion.

Great rod for the price...its rated to only 1oz..but casts 1.5oz lures without much effort. cannot be beat at this price point..highly recommend it to any one.
Pros
  • affordable, strong, sensitive & casts well
Cons
  • ferule joint is super close to one of the guides, make separating the two pieces a little tricky
