The Daiwa Millionaire M7HTMAG, designed specifically for casting maximum distance in the surf, boasts proven, record-class performance in European casting competition. The Millionaire M7HTMAG is built in Daiwa's Japanese factory to ensure maximum quality control.

To control the high-performance spool, capable of reaching speeds up to 30,000 rpm, Magforce Z (called Magnofuge in Europe) applies smooth magnetic braking as the spool approaches maximum speed to prevent over run, and then backing off as the spool slows. The result is the spool starts and builds speed faster, then keeps spinning longer. And the amount of control is fully adjustable to meet varying conditions and your particular casting style.
Daiwa Millionaire M7HTMAG Surf Reel Features:
  • Six ball bearings (5 CRBB) plus roller bearing
  • Lightweight aluminum spool
  • Counter-balanced power handle
  • Fast 5.8 to 1 retrieve picks up 28'' per crank
  • High-grade brass drive gear and stainless steel pinion
  • Infinite Anti-Reverse
  • Rigid, one-piece frame
  • Smooth star-adjust drag
  • Magforce-Z (known in Europe as Magnofuge)

Excellent reel. I fish the surf over 100 days per year and have used this reel for 3 seasons. I use 4 oz -6 oz weights. No problem with bearings or line catching.
Casts a mile and requires minimal maintenance
Pros
  • Great mag system.
  • Reliable.
  • Good casting distance
Cons
  • Supertuned model is pricey.

Absolutely terrible company for saltwater reesl!
December 2, 2018
Had mine for a year and so did a friend (bought at the same time). Within the first month had a grinding in the ball bearings. I don't do any beach fishing at all so i assumed that i got salt inside of it and cleaned it to no avail. A week later my friend's reel started doing the same. Now both of these reels were thoroughly cleaned after each use. Luckily another friend of ours knew a Daiwa rep., and we got all of the internals replace for free. Upon receiving it the worked great.....for about a month again..... I went as far as to replace the "sealed" ball bearings inside with ceramic ones i bought online, which did help, but has not totally absolved the issue with their crappy bearings grinding and locking up.

that rod Daiwa of 12 feet recommend for this reel??
1 Answer
The Daiwa EMP1202XHFB Emblem Surf Conventional Rod would be an ideal match pairing it with the Daiwa Millionaire M7HTMAG Surfcasting Reel. The two would provide good casting ability for your surf fishing experience.

is this a good reel overall?? am buying my first surfcasting rod/reel and would like to know if its a good first. thanks in advance, greetings
1 Answer
Yes. It is a very good surf casting reel. Great for distance. Might possibly be too fast for a beginner to conventional reels, but a great choice. Utilize the mag system.
