Offering the benefits of Daiwa engineering at a fantastic value, the Daiwa Legalis LT Spinning Reels are for those who demand high performance at an agreeable price. The Legalis LT has received a facelift for 2021 with sleek new blue and slate gray cosmetics and all the proprietary Diawa features that have made the Legalis a favorite among anglers of all skill levels. Built around Daiwa's "Light and Tough" concept, the Legalis LT is constructed from a carbon-based composite that is much lighter than conventional materials, yet very durable. The Air Rotor and Air Bail also contribute to a much greater strength to weight ratio, making the reels lighter and easier to handle without fatigue over the long course of a full day of fishing. Other features such as Advanced Tournament Drag and a precision cut Digigear main gear make the Legalis LT a fine choice for a wide variety of spinning reel applications.

Nice, affordable reel

So far so good. Light for a 6000 size setup. Have taken this reel everywhere that holds salt in Florida. Bridges, intracostal waterways, and inlets. Not a saltwater reel, so a spray down after a session is what it gets. Time will tell how it will hold up to the saltwater.

Absolutely love this reel

I bought the Legalis 4000 real and paired it with a 7ft fast Heaven Tsunami Rod. This set up was my primary rod for casting lures in the surf. Drag was more than enough to handle bull reds. Absolutely no complaints with the real but wish I had chosen the 5000, but that’s just a personal preference. I will be buying another one in the future.

Daiwa Quality

The Legalis is basically a Fuego without Mag Seal, and the Fuego is quite possibly the best spinning reel at its price point. If you fish only freshwater or mostly freshwater you don't need Mag Seal so save some bucks and get the Legalis.

Is this reel Magsealed and can it handle saltwater fishing?
1 Answer
No, the Legalis is not Magsealed. Daiwa's most affordable magsealed reel is the Fuego LT. Even though it is not magsealed, the Legalis is suitable for lighter inshore saltwater applications, however you will want to take extra care to not accidentally splash or submerge the reel in order to get multiple seasons of use out of it.

Do you have weights on the 2500 and 3000 reels?
1 Answer
The Regal LT is the latest manifestation in Daiwa’s storied Regal Line. The redesigned reel embraces the LT Concept of light and tough. The True Carbon Frame reduces weight and size yet is as rigid as conventional materials. The reel weight has been reduced from 7.9 ounces to 6.7 oz. in the 1000 series and 10.6 oz. to 7.6 oz. in the 3000 series. The Air Rotor System improves balance and rotation and reduces rotor weight by 15 percent. Reel performance is silky smooth with 9 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing. Few reels in this price range have 9 ball bearings. The Machined Aluminum handle is swept back and the knob is oversized and ergonomically designed. Available in 1000 to 3000 series sizes the Daiwa Regal LT is a versatile line of workhorse reels, designed to put anglers of all skill levels in the high tech world of spinning reels. If you want to experienced the best of Daiwa engineering at a smart price, look for the new, reengineered Regal LT spinning reel.
