Built with the high quality construction that Daiwa is famous for, the Daiwa ISLA Inshore Spinning Rods were thoughtfully designed to fit the needs of Gulf Coast anglers. Whether you're wading the flats or fishing from a skiff, the ISLA Series caters to the most common techniques for targeting Southern shallow-water species like redfish, speckled trout, flounder, and more. These rods have the ideal action for making long, accurate casts with the small, lightweight jigs and twitch baits commonly used in the gulf region. Daiwa has even taken it upon themselves to place markers that indicate legal fish lengths for certain species along the blank. The use of proprietary Daiwa manufacturing technologies and materials such as X45 Bias construction and their low-resin High Volume Fiber (HVF) graphite ensure that these rods are durable, lightweight, and offer crisp sensitivity. All models are equipped with Fuji Tangle-Free K-Frame Guides with Alconite inserts and fitted with comfortable split-grip handles made from premium-grade cork.

Features:

  • Regionally Specific Gulf Coast Series
  • X45 Bias Construction
  • Daiwa's Exclusive High-Modulus (HVF) Graphite
  • Fuji K-Frame Guides with Alconite Inserts
  • Fuji Genuine Reel Seat
  • Cork Split-Grip Handle Configuration
  • Limited 5 Year Warranty

Super sensitive, light weight, and super strong. I've replaced what I thought were really nice rods with these ISLA rods now.

Would a Procyon al 2000 fit on the 7 ft medium for small stripers, fluke, and bluefish
1 Answer
Hello Will,

The 7'6 MH Daiwa Isla inshore would be a better overall rod for multi species fishing and would pair slightly better with the 2500 Daiwa Procyon.

So would a 7,6 mh moderate fast spinning rod be good

With a 3000? Or should I go bigger for the reel? Im

Looking for something to catch 1-10lb red drum and

Stripped bass. Is this the rod I want?

1 Answer
Hi Ben, I would recommend using a 4000 size reel with a Daiwa Proteus Inshore Series Spinning Rod. Specifically Model: PIN76MHXS; TD Code: DAI-3268. https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-pin76mhxs-proteus-inshore-series-spinning-rod.html This rod has a soft tip but also has a very strong backbone that is pefect for throwing small artificials for red drum and striped bass. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

What is the difference between fast n moderate fast??
2 Answers
Peter,

The action of the rod will indicate it's bend under a load. A fast action will bend closer towards the tip and typically offers a bit more sensitivity and the moderate fast will be a little softer and will bend a little further away into the rod. Mod fast typically best for using bait instead of casting artificial lures.

Rods with fast action are great for casting accuracy and solid hook-sets with large baits and lures intended for bigger fish. A medium fast is an in-between action that will allow for those solid hook-sets but also give extended casting distance.

Good match if I pair the 7-6 MH Fast model with the Saltist Back Bay 4000?
1 Answer
Yes this ISLA Inshore rod in a 7'6 MHF would pair wonderfully with a BackBay 4000 for any inshore/light near shore, or bay bay/flats fishing applications
