Built for the surfcaster in need of quality equipment at a fair price, the Daiwa Emblem Pro Surf Rods are ideal for a variety of surf fishing applications whether you're a novice or an expert. These rods are built on a lightweight graphite blank that is well balanced for both long distance casting and powerful fish fighting. The Emblem Pro is equipped with Saltwater Tough Guides that resist corrosion and offer smooth casting with aluminum oxide ring inserts. EVA split grips built around a custom Daiwa Reel Seat allow for maximum comfort and castability while still reducing overall weight of the rod. With a wide array of lengths and power ratings to choose from in both spinning and conventional, the Emblem Pro Surf Rod series has the perfect model to suit your target species and desired technique.

I loved this rod until i snapped it being stupid. Snagged up and pulled up just little too hard on it instead of backing up straight stick. Rod caught me hundreds of stripers and was very sensitive but powerful. I replaced it with the SP which is another great daiwa budget rod but i preferred the butt thinner butt section of the emblem.

Would a Stradic 4000 fit the 8foot mh 1-4?

1 Answer
Hi Will, A Shimano Stradic 4000 would fit onto the Daiwa EMBLM802MHFS Emblem Pro Surf Spinning Rod. However, Since this is currenty sold out I would also recommend a Tsunami TSTIISS-802MH Trophy II Surf Spinning Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/tsunami-tstiiss-802mh-trophy-ii-surf-spinning-rod.html This would also fit your Shimano Stradic 4000 reel for your fishing application. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

shore casting 40-50lb. braid.. Stripers, Blues, Bonito in RI. - MA. waters.

Hi Andrew, the Daiwa EMBLM1202MHFS Emblem Pro Surf Spinning Rod is currently ouf of stock. I would recommend the Daiwa CSP1202HFS Coastal SP Surf Spinning Rod. Model: CSP1202HFS; TackleDirect Code: DAI-3615. I also would recommend the Daiwa BG8000 BG Saltwater Spinning Reel. Model: BG8000; TackleDirect Code: DAI-2359. This would be a great surf combo for chunking bait for large stripers. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Reel recommendation for the conventional rods? Feels like it was made for low profile baitcasters.
1 Answer
Mick,

If you want to go low-profile, then the Shimano Tranx 400/500 or Daiwa Lexa TWS 400 bait casting reels would be a good choice.  If you prefer to go with a round reel, then the Avet MXL 5.8 G2 MC would be a good fit.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
