will this be able to pair with a penn mariner 49 reel and will i be able to troll with it?

This rod would do great for any wire line trolling application, the reel would definitely hold up to trolling, lots of line capacity similar to Penn Senators. just make sure the reel is functioning properly to avoid any mishaps out at sea!
