Loaded with top-of-the-line features and technologies that were previously only found in Daiwa's flagship reels, the Daiwa Certate LT Spinning Reels redefine what you can expect from spinning reels in their class. Built around Daiwa's LT "Light and Tough" concept, the Certate LT utilizes a lightweight, compact body to house an oversized precision machined main gear for the perfect combination of power and precision. Daiwa has borrowed their revolutionary monocoque single-piece body design from their ultra high end models like the Exist LT to create an aluminum frame that not only provides extreme rigidity and strength, but eliminates the necessity for pins and screws to hold the body together, thus making the reel more resistant to water intrusion. This frame design in addition to Daiwa’s proprietary Magseal technology used to seal the main shaft and roller bearing, make the Certate LT a reel fit to withstand the elements in both freshwater and saltwater environments. Other standard issue Daiwa features such as a lightweight Zaion Air Rotor Design and corrosion resistant ball bearings make the Certate LT a proper weapon of choice for those looking to dominate the lakes and inshore waters with the latest cutting-edge performance.

Daiwa Technology Found In Certate LT Spinning Reels:

  • LT Concept - The LT family of reels boast a smaller, lighter, more compact body which is paired with a larger DigiGear for the ultimate combination of Light and Tough.
  • Monocoque Body - Monocoque Body refers to the use of a one-piece frame and reel body. A single piece body allows for exceptional strength and rigidity, better spatial efficiency for housing larger gears, improved water resistance with the absence of screws, and significant weight reduction.
  • DigiGear - The all-new DigiGear is precision machine cut and polished. This results in unmatched efficiency, better transfer of energy, and maximum smoothness.
  • MagSeal - MagSeal is the process of using MagOil, a special liquid developed through space engineering, to create a water and dust resistant barrier. Unlike rubber seals, MagOil will not effect the rotational performance of a reel. This creates a seal that allows the reel to maintain a light and smooth rotation for optimal performance.
  • Air Rotor - The Air Rotor weighs up to 15% less than ordinary rotor designs. Its unique shape reduces unnecessary weight while distributing stress more evenly throughout the rotor for maximum strength.
  • Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings - Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings boast a lifespan up to 12 times longer than traditional stainless steel bearings.

Near Perfection

I bought my CertateLT5000D in 2019 and have landed hundreds of stripers with it. I paired it with a St. Croix Avid 8' and calling it a baby Saltiga really doesn't do it justice. It's the smoothest reel I've every felt. I bought a bearing kit last year that adds the bearing on the main shaft and in the drag stack to duplicate the two bearings the Exist has that the Certate doesn't out of the box (now 12+1). You don't need them, but with them, the drag becomes almost intuitive. I can't overstate the smoothness of this reel, or the power it has. After maybe 200 fish, it still feels new. This year I hope to get offshore with it and take on some schoolie size tuna and Mahi with it. Daiwa did everything right with this reel. Buy it sight unseen. Add the 2 bearings and it's an aluminum bodied Exist.
Pros
  • Big drag knob, Beautifully accented and finished reel. Light and Tough, Easily upgradeable to perfection.
Cons
  • None Whatsoever

I have the 5000 paired with the 8ft ODM DNA. This reel is amazing. It’s smooth and sturdy. I can’t recommend this reel enough. I’ve put a great number of hours and fish on this reel and it hasn’t skipped a beat.

I accidentally used oil on the line roller but nothing bad happened. Keep in mind that this reel is magsealed when you try to service it.

Overall this is my absolute favorite reel of all time.

Top 6 reels in the world!
18 Stella FJ, 18 Exist LT, 19 Certate LT, 19 Vanquish, 19 Stella SWC, and 20 Saltiga are the best spinning reels for me.
As soon as I got 19 Certate from TackleDirect, I upgraded 2 ball bearings for spool and main shaft so it gets full ball bearings like 18 Exist LT, plus Daiwa SLPW ALUMINUM ROUND KNOB. If you spend enough money on this reel, you don't wanna buy Chinese made round knobs and ball bearings.
Pros
  • light
  • rigid
  • big main gear
  • powerful drag
Cons
  • 2 ball bearings are missing (but easy upgrade)

Remarkable

This is by far the smoothest reel that I've ever handled. It is rugged and light as well. The handle is comfortable as well. I have the 3000xh paired with a 6'6'' st croix avidx that I primarily use to throw senko worms for LMB. It is quite simply the best reel I've ever handled.
Pros
  • Weight
  • Smoothness
  • Handle

This reel is mind blowing. It’s one of the smoothest reels I’ve ever handled. This thing has one giant main gear that helps in cranking on that fish on the other end. It features a lot of stuff from it’s bigggg brothers the saltigas and man it’s absolutely the best thing you can honestly but in this price range right now

Amazing & powerful for its size!
September 22, 2019
This is one badass little reel. It's super lightweight and crazy smooth when turning the handle. I caught a 42 inch snook on this little guy and definitely impressed by it. Perfect for inshore & freshwater fishing. Also has some sealing in it to keep salt and sand out.
Pros
  • Incredibly light weight. Powerful for its size... around 27 lbs of drag. One piece body with some sealing to help keep salt and sand out.
Cons
  • None by far

This is one of the finest reels I have ever had the opportunity to use.

It is super lightweight and I feel like the one-piece body makes a connection between the reel and the rod-like I have not experienced with any other reel.

Here is my full review: https://saltedangler.com/spinning-reels/daiwa-certate-lt-spinning-reel-review/
Pros
  • Super lightweight and sealed to keep out the elements
Cons
  • It is expensive but most things that are of very high quality are.

Is the 4000CXH good for albies when spooled with 15lb braid? Will it have enough line capacity for them?
1 Answer
Hi Ryan, the Daiwa CERTATELT4000-CXH Certate LT Spinning Reel would hold enough line for fishing False Albacore and would be great. However, since this is sold out currently I would also recommend the Shimano TPXD4000XGFA Twin Power XD FA Spinning Reel. https://www.tackledirect.com/shimano-tpxd4000xgfa-twin-power-xd-fa-spinning-reel.html This reel has a 6.2:1 gear ratio that has 40 inches of line per crank and will hold 230yds of 15lb braid. This would also make a great light reel for fishing False Albacore. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

1 Answer
Matt,

The Daiwa Certate LT spinning reel all sizes (2500-5000) are auto bail.  The Daiwa Certate SW spinning reel all sizes (8000-18000) are manual bail.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
