The Daiwa Eliminator Spinning Reels are built to provide big fish fighting power at an affordable price. They feature Daiwa's signature HardBodyz anodized aluminum frame and side-plate to provide the rigidity necessary to keep the oversized gears in line. The anodized aluminum frame reduces the possibilities of scratching and corrosion. The digi-cut gears will provide maximum cranking power while remaining smooth over time. The aluminum spool is outfitted with a rubber gasket and is braid ready.

it is daiwa, very good price, it will be done to the BG 8000, but black color, I have not tried it yet, but as the bg, it is heavy and fits a lot of line.

As good as BG6500 if you don't need waterproofing
February 2, 2021
The Eliminator 6500 is a great reel for the sale price that I got from TackleDirect. I also have the BG6500, and the feeling of operation for both reels is pretty much identical. This reel has felt washers instead of carbon fiber washers, and there are no built-in rubber gaskets anywhere to prevent saltwater intrusion (unlike the BG6500). The BG is also not a sealed reel by any means, but it withstood occasional splashes without any problem. I am very careful in protecting this reel from saltwater sprays with a reel cover on the boat while not actually fishing, and so far it's performing as well as the BG.
Pros
  • A bargain BG with identical feel.
Cons
  • No as saltwater resistant as BG. It should be lightly cleaned and lubed after each saltwater use.

Excellent light tackle reel
January 26, 2021
I wanted to fish a few times with this before writing a review. I am absolutely beyond happy with the performance of this reel. I have always been a Penn guy. I put this up against my Battle 3 DX 2500 and can say that this reel performs extremely well. Each has their own unique benefits, but I would put this up against higher dollar reels. My only "turn off" is the hex handle. I have a feeling that it will be the weak point of the reel in the end. A screw on handle would have been much more preferred.
Pros
  • Very light
  • Casts well
  • Smooth retrieve
  • smooth drag
  • Gorgeous aesthetics
Cons
  • Hex handle

Great inexpensive reel

Bought the 2500 to replace a cheap Daiwa D-Force reel. Much smoother cranking and the anti reverse made all the difference in the world. Perfect size for trout with 6lbs fluorocarbon line.

Big fish on a budget
November 17, 2020
Got the 4500. To me this is a big and heavy reel for a 4500 series. However, it is smooth and can take a lot of lne. The sale price justifies the purchase for those in tight budget.
Pros
  • Price, smoothnes, line capacity
Cons
  • Big and Heavy
