These trolling rigs have 4 3/0 gold Mustad hooks dressed with fluorescent green, fluorescent red, yellow, and dark red surgical tubing, followed by the most popular sized Original Clarkspoon. The Mackerel Tree Rig can be pulled by itself across the surface, or paired with a planer or trolling weight if you wish to troll at depth. Simply tie your main line or leader to the barrel swivel, and attach your spoon or other desired trolling lure to the coastlock snap on the other end and you're ready to troll.

Pier Jigging

I have great luck with this tree jigging on the pier for Spanish and Blues!! I use a 2 oz or 1oz spoon on the bottom depending on the water . Just a really good tree for the pier , less effort than a plug!

Great for Spanish mackerel

Used these off the Apache pier in Myrtle beach South Carolina in October 21. The mackerel run really wasn’t in full swing but I caught a few.
This in combination with a rod rocker and a 12’ rod would be an awesome combination. The gold spoon would get the mackerel and the silver seems to get the bluefish.
Make sure you have spares!
