There are some other shrimp for other scenarios but this is among the most realistic for weedless applications.

Great action

Besides this lure being extremely realistic it also has great action which I think is even more important than looks. This lure is a great lure for almost every inshore species anywhere, it is super versatile. I love to use this lure in charleston for trout and reds.
Pros
  • Action
  • Versatility
  • realistic

Everything eats Shrimp

The Flick Prawn is Phenomenal. The material is strong Elaztech style. I wish they offered a smaller size because im sure you could slam fluke on a smaller model. I like to use some pro cure shrimp with it. Get One In Ya !!
Pros
  • Elaztech style material (Strong like Bull)
  • Everything Eats Shrimp
  • So lifelike I want to grab some cocktail sauce and lemon wedges
  • They are Australian which is Badass
Cons
  • Need a 2 inch 2 pack option like the crabs

It catches

I caught about 5 striped bass the first night I fished the lure 4/12/2019.

I bought it because I was seeing mantis shrimp in the stomachs of fish that I had been filleting for the past few years and wanted to try a realistic shrimp lure...this lure looks like a large shrimp, not a mantis shrimp, but that didn't seem to matter to the bass as I caught fish within the first couple of casts with it.

I fish this lure in a shallow rocky bay area that has a moderate current. I use it as an alternative to a bucktail or tsunami sand eel soft plastic. I really like that I can fish it very, and I mean very, very slow and still the shrimp looks alive...I can basically drift this lure in the current and just follow the rod tip to keep the slack out of my line and fish will hit it. If there current is light, I can use a very slow retrieve and just glide the shrimp above the bottom and it catches fish.

I really want to try this lure once the fluke hit the open beaches as this shrimp will do very well in light surf through the wash and in the beach lip. I am also sure that this lure would work for weakfish, sea trout, reds, tarpon, jacks, pompano, snook, grouper, snapper and pretty much anything else that eats a shrimp.

4/5 for the simple fact that I was not super impressed with the hook it came with...the hook was sharp out of the package, but did not holds its point for very long, I find that I am constantly sharpening the hook on this lure and started to notice rust on the hook points after 2 weeks of use.
Pros
  • Realistic
Cons
  • hook could be better, but a hook can be replaced with no issue, just use a similar gamakatsu or owner wide gap hook that is of the same size and weighted the same and you will be fine.
