C.E. Smith 2-Way Clamp On Mid Mount Rod Holders feature a patented clamp system, which allows each rod holder to serve as a vertical or horizontal unit. The clamp cap comes attached horizontally. Unscrew the cap, turn 90° and the rod holder becomes a vertical clamp.

All models include a strong integrally-cast gimbal bar and white vinyl liner.
  • Investment-cast 316 stainless steel
  • Unique clamping system will rotate for either horizontal or vertical mounting
  • Strong integrally-cast gimbal bar
  • Sized to fit stainless tube or aluminum pipe
* Stainless marine products are made from decorative stainless tube which is measured by its actual outside diameter and is sold in even sizes, 7/8", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2".

** Aluminum marine products are made from schedule 40 aluminum pipe which has no measured dimension equal to the stated size. In fact: 3/4" schedule 40 pipe - 1.0625" OD; 1" schedule 40 pipe = 1.321" OD; 1-1/4" schedule 40 pipe =1.66" O.D.

Extra rod holders
October 19, 2014
Great for adding a few extra rod holders when need for either trolling or for a few extra guest on the boat. They are easy to clamp on and they stay attached good. Very durable and look great.

Quality rod holders

These rod holders are worth what you pay for them. They come with a bushing so that when you attach them to the rail they are snug and do not move. They are well made and sturdy.

As Described

Plating seems thin. Time will tell. When I installed the pole holders I discovered the socket screws were Metric threads

Every other fastener on my boat ( made in USA ) is USS Standard threads and so are my on-board tools.
Pros
  • I can attach to T-Top rails horizontally or vertically.
Cons
  • Made in China - What else needs to be said.
  • I thought C.E. Smith was an American Manufacturer.
