Very well made. if you need a softside cooler bag, THIS is the brand you want. Make sure you analyze the different sizes. Be aware that the overal size is different than the usuable size due to how the seams are welded along the sides. If in doubt, order one size larger than you think you need. Worth every penny.

Just used for the first time last weekend, with a 4lb fluke, about 3/4 of a 3lb bag of ice, and my lunch (all in rear storage area of my Hobie Outback). Plenty of ice to spare at the end of the day and my fish froze my hands when filleting. Will be interested to see how it performs in the summer with the sun pounding on it, but worked great for me so far! Sturdy construction, but definitely will be washing down the zipper with fresh water after each use. Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially those trying to save space. Going to be great on party boat trip up in MA this summer as well.

Was a great bag for a reasonably high price. NOW they have raised the price nearly 70.00 over last year . REALLY, That GREEDY. Now I will buy cheaper bags. SAD.

I have a technical poling skiff so weight is of utmost importance. I stow this bag in the boat and if I decide I want to kill one for dinner in he goes with some ice out of the drink cooler. Nice to keep em separate

No need for big heavy cooler!

I came across this accidentally and thought I would give this a try. With a 21' Walkaround, space is always at a premium. Add 2-3 people and tackle and a big cooler always got in the way. We'd use the in-floor fish boxes, but when we got back to the doc, we'd load them in coolers waiting the cars or bags. With this bag, I added 5 pounds of ice at 5am. Got our first fish around 6am, 2nd about an hour later. Added a little ocean water and the fish to the ice each time. Got back to the dock around 3pm and fish were nice and cold. Rinsed the bag at home and refolded the back for the next trip. Great addition to any small boat.

Keeps Catch Nice and Fresh

I have used the B-29 Blackfish and B-32 Steelhead bags . . . they both excel at keeping your catch nice and fresh for hours in the hot sun. Only thing is that the cooler bags are made like a standard plastic bag, unlike a gusseted plastic bag, so you have to use multiple smaller blue ice packs instead of larger packs. Using the smaller packs and arranging them accordingly allows the bag to hold more fish and ice. The the full length is not usable . . . e.g., I couldn't fit a 20" jobfish in the B-32 bag without bending the fish.

It is expensive but compared to the other bags out there it's a good price. I have put a few large kings in the bag and some reds and it holds ice well and is very easy to clean. I use it in my Jackson cuda kayak

Why is the B12 bag smaller but more expensive than the B27 bag that is bigger and less expensive? What is the difference between these two bags?

Both B12 and B27 have the same design. The B12 is smaller by 4 inches. Our cost reflects what we paid canyon for the bags.

This is directly from the Canyon Bag website;
MODELS B-12, B-14,B-25, B-26, TKC-1, B-27 are available with an integral track to mount to your transom. Extrusion is welded directly onto bag 2” from the top. Track is provided with a special 3M marine grade peal and stick tape that mounts to your transom without drilling. Track and tape can be removed with solvent if necessary without harming your gelcoat.
It is something we would have to specify and order for you.

The canyon bags the zipper runs around 3 edges (3 of the 4). The other is the seam, or hinge for the two flaps to open up. the reliables are built the same way.
Canyon Bags are the standard in the industry.

THE CANYON BAGS HAVE ZIPPERS ONLY ON THE TOP EXCEPT THE B52 GIANT TUNA BAG WHICH ZIPS THREE SIDES.
AND YES IF YOU STAND IT UP THEY ARE LEAK PROOF IN THE CAR.
