Cheap pliers

I just started getting into jigging and needed some split ring pliers. After using them for a while I can say its time for some better ones. The handle is cheap stuff that is coming off, the joint is getting stiff from some salt exposure, the cutting part of the pliers doesnt really cut, and the tooth of the split ring part is quite large for the size of rings I am working with. Overall they work and they are cheaper, but save yourself the frustration of working with bad split ring pliers and get a better pair.

What can these pliers do beyond std needle nosed pliers? ie- Why the hooked tip, multi-width grooves on the side, 2 different size holes between the blades, half moon compression indent between the blades

It also double as split rings pliers and the half moon you see is a line cutter
