I bought this planning on using it for redfish. I've cleaned about 35 or 40 with it so far, it does just fine on the 20-22 inch fish and smaller. The bigger ones, (which I was hoping it would be great on) it performs just ok. Nothing like I was expecting from reading the spec of the knife and what it was designed for. It's a breeze to clean trout with and its pretty good on sheephead, even the bigger ones (6-8lbs) I know redfish are an extremely tough fish, I was just expecting better from the advertisement of what I read about this knife.
