This belt is outstanding for light tackle Sportfishing. It’s compact, offers good protection from a gimbaled rod butt, and it has the cross pin to stabilize your rod as you crank in a fish. I use it primarily on the charter boats out of Cabo San Lucas and the East Cape in Baja Mexico. Plus, you have a belt to hang a set of pliers in a sheath while you fish. It has a gorgeous green tint over the graphite weave, and is instrumental in putting extra pressure on a fish without the rod butt digging into your nether regions. I consider it essential when fishing on the charter boats!
