Good idea, poor design

There is a lot of "slop" in these crimpers, which is why I don't think they work very well. I tried tightening the bolt down but ran into friction problems. I like the idea of stainless, but other non-stainless brands simply work better.

When squeezing down on crimpers, crimp is not compressed evenly. Even when lightly crimped, the crimp becomes lodged in the tool. Tool does not function properly. Holes drilled out for the different crimp sizes are not round. Holes are oblong, and do not match to make an even crimp. I provided a picture. Look carefully, holes are not aligned with eachother and sloppy drilled. These are brand new!!!
Pros
- Smooth grip, appears to be less corrosive than other painted crimpers. Priced fairly if functioned properly.
Cons
- Not manufactured properly. Should not of left the assembly line. Would have failed a test. Even when lightly crimped, these crimpers will not crimp properly. Crimp becomes lodged in tool. Im out $30 something dollars. Holes not drilled properly, un- even bite from tool. Misaligned.

I've owned several crimping tools, and this one is by far the best. I you make up leaders on a regular basis, these are a must.

I am looking for something like this for an industrial application, I need to crimp a single barrel crimp to 0.012" dia. music wire, would this tool work and what crimps could I use?

Gerry, As long and the single barrel crimp does not exceed 2.3 mm you should be able to use this tool with no problem.
