Great Crimper!

Have this for a while now and can say it is pretty reliable and can crimp mono, Flouro and cable with ease. Connections are strong and hold up well. The crimper itself cuts cable straight. I recommend this crimpers.

The crimping tool works great and I intend to keep it on my boat so I am very happy to have a stainless steel tool since all of my previous ones eventually rusted despite my best efforts.
Pros
  • Stainless steel tool is excellent and the rigging kit has the most often used materials. The price for the set is excellent.
Cons
  • None yet.

What is the smallest line class you would comfortably crimp with this set?
1 Answer
Hi Jackson, The Boone Deluxe Crimping Tool is able to crimp as low as 0.1 - 0.5mm crimps. That said, Comfortably anything 0.5mm or above 40lb and up would be ok and comfortable to crimp once you get use to using the tool. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Ti

what are the thimbles used for in crimping
1 Answer
Ron, The thimbles are used protect the mono loop from chaffing. You make a loop around the thimble...many guys will use the thimble loop instead of a swivel. Hope this helps!

I am new to this and want to use it to crimp monofilament sizes 30,40, & 50 lb test. Will this work?
1 Answer
It is risky crimping such light mono. It can be done, but we do not suggest it. The margin for error is VERY small. That being said, the Boone kit you asked about would not be the best choice. take a look at Hi Seas. Even this however, might not cover the light line you want to use.
