Great lure for bass fishing
February 20, 2020
I received the XSIL Silver Flash/Green Back color as a Christmas gift. Had an opportunity to throw it out and see how well it performs, and the action looks very good. Even had an opportunity to hook up on some fish. Overall I will always have this in my bag when casting for striped bass
Cons
  • Split rings and treble hooks leave something to be desired, but overall I won't knock the rating because of it as the standard equipment will land fish. I have swapped them out with VMC 4x strong 1/0 hooks, and have also removed the middle hook. Never hurts to use some better stuff when fighting bigger fish

before the SPs I was using these and they produce really well and still do. I just prefer to SP minnows now though

Casts really far, and with that big lip it has a very intense action. Bomber got it right with this one.

Bomber makes good lures. They consistently hook up with all types of fish if you know how to work the lure. Depending in conditions you may need to adjust your retrieve speed and/or action.
Pros
  • long distance casting
Cons
  • they start to lose their finish after extended use and hits

Good Lure

Staple for striper season. If you don’t have light and dark colors in your quiver? You need a few!
Cons
  • Melt under any type of heat. I kept a few of these along with a few savage gear, Daiwa SP Minnowâ?‚??"?s and a few othe lures. All 5 of my bomber lures warped. However I wrote to the company and they sent me new ones. So now I donâ?‚??"?t leave them in my truck in the summer.

BOMBERS ARE THE BOMB
August 3, 2016
I have used these lures for close to 20 years and have caught more fish on these lures than any other lure I carry. The are absolutely deadly on bass.
Pros
  • great action and a great price, durable.
Cons
  • not the greatest casting lure especially in wind.

When I'm not catching, the long a always catches. Replace the hooks with 4X VMC's and split rigs with SPRO and you're good. Chicken scratch is my go to and its highly productive.
