Aaron Bogushefsky, or more commonly known as Bogy, has been creating and selling artwork since his high school years. Growing up in South Jersey he has acquired a strong sense of community and love for the natural surroundings. Getting his start as a surfing artist, Bogy portrayed the common scenes of the surfing lifestyle in a utopian, lighthearted, whimsical fashion. Since then, he has continued to create more vivid surfing depictions as well as exploring other areas of interest. Being raised in and around the ocean, it seemed like a natural progression to include marine paintings in the same style that popularized his surfing works. Although he is known for his watercolors, Bogy is also creating pieces using graphite, India ink, paint markers and acrylics. Diversity of style and mediums are a staple in this young artist’s approach. Much of Bogy’s artwork is inspired by the surfing and angling lifestyles, love for God, hometown and national pride; as well as other artists like Rick Griffin, Bill Ogden, Guy Harvey and C.S. Lewis. “I view myself as a vessel to be used by God and will use my given talents for Him and the furtherance of His kingdom.” Bogy currently lives in Ocean City, New Jersey where he surfs, fishes, hunts, paints and teaches art to the up and coming generations.
