Best Tuna and Yellowtail Rod for Socal Fishing
April 7, 2015
I use Seeker Black Steel rods for all offshore fishing in Southern California. Exceptional rods and the very light with great backbone. The G6470 is in my opinion one of the most popular for mid range tuna fishing ranging from 30lbs-60lbs. Matches great with a Talica II 10 or an Avet MXJ.

January 9, 2022
Which seeker rod is good for a Torium 20 to use in San Diego offshore, Coronado island, Catalina island, and channel island for top water or bottom fishing?
1 Answer
Hi June, Based on your fishing application I would recommend the Seeker G 6470-7' Black Steel Rod. However since this rod is currently sold out, I would also recommend the Daiwa PRTWN80MHF Proteus-WN Saltwater Conventional Rod. https://www.tackledirect.com/daiwa-prtwn80mhf-proteus-wn-saltwater-conventional-rod.html This model would be ideal for throwing top water lures and bottom fishing. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.
