Great packaging and handling. The rod looks great but too stiff, did not have a chance to try yet.

Second Black Hole 8 Foot

My first time out I landed a 100 plus yellow fin popping with a 6500 Saltiga in the Gulf of Mexico. On my second trip in the Red Sea I was with the family with a ton of items and I forgot the rod on the boat. By the time I realized it about a week later, the Egyptian Captain said it was no longer there. The Egyptian crew packed everything except that specific item, so I assume they retained for themselves it b/c its not an item you could ever buy or find in Egypt. With the right care they will have the nicest rod in the Red Sea.
Pros
  • Two piece and strong.
Cons
  • Still a bit expensive. When I bought the first one in October 2018 it was $495. Now its around $545.

I tend to shy away from anything longer than 9'6 on the jetties and inshore applications. The 7'6 loads so well when on lunkers. Perfect for GTs too. The handle feels very good and the guides are very good to me. thumbs up

I just received my rod and i am so excited to to test it.
There is no doubt this rod is powerful!
The reason i comment this rod before testing it is because i am desapointed the rings are a bit misaligned towarss the tip...
Pros
  • Very light
  • Powerful
  • Feels good in your hands
Cons
  • Rings a little misaligned
  • The rod butt doesnt have a cross for extra difficult fights

OUTSTANDING

I have landed several big fish with my Black Hole 8'0 popping rod. Witch is paired with a Van Stall VM 275 reel spooled with 65 pd super slick Power Pro line. This is a outstanding offshore combo. I am completely blown away with its performance and craftsmanship.
