Tough line

Solid stuff, great abrasion resistance, we use it for topshots over braid. Have used 40 and 30 lb, and just bought a spool of 20.
Pros
  • Abrasion resistance, great price

Only line I use.

Berkley Trilene is the only monofilament I will use. As an avid angler I use the xl on my ultra light and bass rods and the xt on my heavy musky, catfish, and surf rods. The knot strenth is great, the abrasion resistance is great. Low line memory! With so many reels to spool Tackle Direct is the only place I've found that carries the line selection and size spool selection I need. Great service too!

Great line, I have used this for years.

This is a great line in all colors. Priced right, and respooling is economical.

I use this on spinning reels. I like to troll straight line with crankbaits for Pike, walleye, smallmouth. I use 10lb test.

I am trying the Solar collector for catfishing rivers, 15lb test. Using UV lights at night.

Any problems, like tangles, usually
is my fault

I use this for backing on my reels w/ braid
Why put 300 yds of braid on when you can fill half with mono and half with braid. Money saver

Trilene is the Best
May 21, 2021
When I started fishing as a child, I began with heavy line, and have never stopped. My brother had gone to walleye clinics which preached finesse fishing. I informed him that with 6 pound test like I could keep the lure makers in profits for snapped off lures. Trilene 12 pound does not snap off, nor does it have to be retied all the time.
I have in years of fishing, equaled and excelled past people fishing with light line and with spider wires which proved to me that heavy line is not a detriment to casting, drifting, jigging or trolling. I like having line on that I do not have to worry about in being cut and not losing fish.

Trilene Best
May 21, 2021
I have been fishing with Trilene line for 45 years. It has never let me down. I have watched all the new inventions come along and when it comes down to it, I keep fishing Trilene because it is forgiving and I believe the line stretches in being easier on a fish in being hooked and played.
Pros
  • It is Trilene.
Cons
  • None

Cant beat it

I use this line for all of my leaders for fishing the surf. One spool will last you for years. I currently have 25, 30, 40, and 50 sitting next to me ready for whatever application I need.
Pros
  • Strong, cheap, durability, abrasion resistance

Unbeatable

Trilene Big Game! This stuff is hard to beat in durability and price. Performs well enough and is very strong. The trade off is that this is ever so slightly larger in diameter than the same LB test in other brands.
Pros
  • Strong and inexpensive
Cons
  • Larger diameter

This is the go to line.

More than enough to spool two reels. Very important to soak the spooled line
in a warm water bath for about 30 minutes to remove the twist.

Good Line

Just as the title says, I use this line for everything and have caught 30lb bat rays on 12lb line. Caught stripers, largemouth, smallies, leopard sharks etc. and this line has held up well. Its quite abrasion resistant
