Berkley Powerbait Crazy Legs Chigger Craw is made with Berkley's exclusive PowerBait formula. Scientists have spent over 25 years perfecting this formula. It combines an irresistible scent and flavor. Fish love the scent and flavor so much that they hold on longer. This is a Bass Master Classic winning bait. It features high action pinchers for more strikes. The crazy legs create more action on retrieve or fall that entice the bass.

Alternate Colored Flakes

Previously reviewed as one of my favorite baits; the alternate colors help in different lighting conditions and water clarity, and we all hope for finicky fish as well.

Current Favorite with Swim Jig
December 20, 2021
This is currently my favorite trailer for our swim jigs. Visually it has fantastic action - just make sure you separate all of the little pieces holding the legs and antennae together to get full action. It is very fishable in lily pads, reeds and most types of heavy cover.

Best bottom crawler
November 3, 2021
Best craw bait to use in clear water on rocky, gravel or sandy bottoms. Use on plain standup jighead with no skirt. 1/4 - 3/8 jig. Craw and crazy legs "swim" down to bottom and "swim" easily when hopped along the bottom. Crazy legs draw a lot of attention. 4" profile is great since attracts larger fish. Clear calm water in the sun then GP is best. Clear water some wind and sun then GP Green Fleck or WM Candy are great. Cloudy or in shaded areas, black w red fleck works well. Be sure to break off very small pieces of plastic used in molding the lure so the lure claws and legs move correctly.
Pros
  • Natural swimming action
  • Use without skirted jig
  • If legs fall off, continue to use as regular craw bait
  • If gets beat-up, then cut off one section to reduce length and use remainder as a skirted jig trailer
  • Also use Texas rig with light weight working over/through wood or dense grass
Cons
  • Wish there were more colors
