This Gulp! bait looks, feels, and smells like live sand crabs/fleas. It comes in a variety of colors to let you match-the-hatch and is more durable and easier to handle than live bait. Gulp! also features rapid scent dispersion that attracts fish from greater range.

Softshell sandcrab

This little bait will out fish live sandcrabs (unless they are molting).
When you can't find bait, this works.
You will get larger perch on these than the worms.

Use the natural color to catch rock fish

Been using the sand flea natural color to catch various rock fish of the jetty. I like the artificial baits as they stay on the hook longer

Pompano
April 1, 2020
These baits are great for surf fishing just about anywhere, because sand flees are everywhere. They have a great scent, are the perfect size, and look realistic. My favorite fish to use these for are pompano, but they also work for northern kingfish and a bunch of other different species. Obviously the real thing works better but these are a great substitute.
Pros

  • Realistic
Cons
  • A little soft compared to a sand flee

Do not like

The real sand flea catches twice as much as these do. I have used a lot of gulp products and i don't want to take business away from anybody but these are terrible

These are perfect alternative to live sand crabs. These work almost as good as the real thing in the surf. They have a strong sent and hold on the hook better them real sand crabs.

  • Hold on hook better then real sand crabs.

How do you rig these things and what size hook do you use? I'm from up north and now live in Florida, I have never seen these up north and I surf fished a lot...

please help would love to try these creatures

1 Answer
Hi Jose, Most people rig them as if they are fishing live sand fleas. They also rig them on a size 5/0 circle hook and throw them weightless in the surf for striped bass. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!
