Gulp! Alive Grub6in1 PintPearl White$19.99 USD

Renowned for its ability to regularly produce doormat fluke anywhere from shallow bays to deep water reefs, the Berkley Gulp! Alive Grub has become a staple among flounder fishermen in the Northeast. Best rigged on a jig head or as a trailer on a bucktail, the Gulp! Grub is not limited to only flounder and black sea bass, as its wild tail whipping action coupled with Berkley's legendary Gulp! scent formula has proven to be effective on game fish of all varieties up and down the coast.

Berkley's Gulp! Alive series of baits come in a hard plastic container floating in a generous amount of what many anglers call "Gulp Juice", or what Berkley has referred to as their "Magic Gravy". This fluid has a specially formulated scent that is absorbed by the baits and then dispersed throughout the water to attract fish. The resealable containers allow you to recharge your baits after long periods of use to increase their effectiveness.

Gulp Alive 5" grub

Right size and color for what I was fishing for. Works great for Fluke in my area.
Pros
  • Works great
Cons
  • The new gulp baits are not as durable as they were when they first came out. I recommend them because they will catch fish at times when nothing else will work.

Spring sized (small bait) Grubs for Monster fluke
April 12, 2022
For early season fluke in LI Sound these 4" grubs work terrifically in both shallow and in deep water on a dropper loop setup or a chicken rig setup with a bucktail, big eye jig, silver bullet or simple sinker on the bottom loop. Match the hatch on the size and colors, use a larger grub on any of the bottom loop choices.

Who Came Up with This Name?!

I don't know, but they are nuclear on the fish! The 6" grubs have great action. These nuclear chicken glow so they are great in dirty and/or deep water. Best on the ocean on a 3-6 oz bucktail. Thread carefully onto hook so they come off straight for maximum action. Don't leave home with just one color grup, because when your buddies are catching on a different color that you don't have, they aren't gonna give you any!

Catch More Fish
December 12, 2021
The combination of the scent and the action make these nearly irrestible to NJ fluke on the ocean. Work best with 3 - 6 oz bucktails. Make sure you put bring the hook out in a spot that allows the grub to stay straight to enjoy maximum action of the tail. Works fine with no bait, but I find adding a strip bait adds to the catch particularly with larger fish. Once you have a couple of tubs of the Alive grubs, then you can just buy the bagged grubs which are cheaper and stuff 'em in these containers with the juice.

Only bait I use in Long Island when bay jigging for fluke: 4" mullet on a teaser and grub on a bucktail. Recharge in juice between every drift.

It is hard to find this color in the smaller 4" size. Great for back bay fluke and weakfish.
