Perfect Everday Carry Knife
September 22, 2014
If this was another online retailer that didn't focus on on the water sports there is not a single flaw in this knife. Since this review is on Tackledirect i want to underscore that corrosion resistance could be better. (Or maybe I shouldn't don't dunk this knife in saltwater). I love my mini griptilian and full size griptilian.
Pros
  • The steel on this knife is fantastic, holds a terrific edge yet sharpens fairly easily. Out of the box the knife is very sharp. There's enough heft to the knife to take care of most tasks, yet light enough that you can carry it every day. If it's a little too big for your liking get the mini griptilian which is perfect for the business man. The deployment of the blade is ambidextrous and will stay smooth. I only adjusted mine twice in 8 years. Pocket clip can me moved to either side. Cost this is by far one of the best knives out there for the money. The action, blade quality and durability are phenomenal.
Cons
  • Corrosion resistance to saltwater, its not. Mine started to foul after 8 years. Sent it back to Benchmade, they turned it around in two weeks and it came back like new. Great service Benchmade, now could you make a set of saltwater fishing pliers!?!
