How long does it take for them to dissolve?

This will depend on the water you are fishing. Cold water means slower dissolve rate and warm water means faster dissolve rate. There isn't a set time in which this lasts but the scent and attraction qualities of the bait ball lasts for a while even after the fizzing has stopped.
