It's a beast of a reel. I have so much confidence with this reel. I have it spooled with mamoi 80lb braid and a short 80lb flouro top shot. I got hooked up on a 40lb grouper that went directly into the rocks I set the drag to max and this reel gave up absolutely no line the whole fight successfully getting it into the boat. Unfortunately gag grouper is out of season.

Fantastic reel for the money! Absolutely the best quality! I catch oversize sturgeon in the 10 foot plus category and this is the best reel i have ever used! 2 speed reel gets her off the bottom quick and handles 650 pounds plus fish smoothly and quickly. Can't wait to get more.

This is an incredibly versatile reel and good for individuals who don’t have much/any experience with casting conventional reels thanks to magnetic control. Very good construction, line capacity and drag for the size of the reel.

We got this reel, paired it with a Chaos Composite rod, spooled it with 35lb braid and the first trip out it performed like a rock star. Exceeded expectations, the drag was set at 30% of 35lb and performed flawlessly. Snappers and Groupers didn't stand a chance. Also on the first outing we hooked up with several 6-7' sharks and after a fierce battle of approx 30 mins were able to safely release the sharks. Let the drag do its job, don't try and thumb the spool to add any extra (I have a braid burn from thumbing the spool on a shark)

LX Raptor 2sp. Pricey, but good quality for the price. It’s an Avet so I know it’s built to last. I put it on a Seeker Hercules SHS 70XH-7' And it balances perfectly. It fit slightly more line than advertised, but I couldn’t give an exact amount since I have some mono top shot.

This reel has it all, from power, smooth drag, well built and for casting.

This is just about the best size and class reel you can buy from Avet. Extremely castable and amazing drag for the size. The two speed is a must! I was super surprised when they had a left hand reel, raptor, in gold and was quick to order it. I have 8 Avets in total, this is my go to brand for large or small saltwater game. I can catch monster drum, 3-5 ft sharks, down to large whiting, sand trout and pompano. Extremely versatile.

This is my second Avet purchase and it won't be my last. Super smooth drag, great freespool, clicker is nice and loud. Good purchase from a great company. I love that its made in the USA too.

Great reel for the price, plenty of drag for stopping almost anything you can catch from inshore to offshore species. The mc casting system is great as well allowing you to cast different baits or lures of multiple weight ranges without using your thumb as a braking tool.

I Love everything about this reel, perfect size and weight and it has tons or torque and power.
