I bought 2 of these and l’m really happy with their performance for stripers is the Chesapeake Bay. It’s my first Avet purchase and the quality seems superb and I really like that they’re made in the USA!

Was always a Penn guy but i switched over to an Avet after trying a friend of mines new one. These reels have great drag power behind them and will catch fish bigger than what they are rated for.

Super reel paired it with Okuma Nomad for albacore out of Washington state; spooled with 40lb braid topped with 30lb fluoro it caught a lot of fish!

I purchased one of these reels to use for pier fishing in northeast Florida. I spooled it with 50-pound braid. We paddled it off the beach to see if we could get a shark. After about an hour we had a run. The fish ripped 500 yards of line straight out. We locked the drag down and stopped the fish. After a thirty minute fight we landed the 102-pound southern stingray. The reel had absolutely no problems, even though I know paddling off the beach is not what this reel is made for. This reel is a powerhouse.

Super smooth. Have caught a ton of fish with this reel. Only issues are that the clicker is quiet and doesn't provide much tension. I actually shortened the springs to stiffen it up. Also the drag is difficult to set when it first engages, which makes slow trolling live bait trickier. Thankfully both issues are addressed by the G2 series
