i have a nice MX I use for fluking. Spend the extra money for the Magic cast, its worth the price difference and is less hassle. if you have people who are not experienced fishermen use your gear as guests MC is great.

Like what I see so far

Like the option of having the 1.3 to 1 low gear when pulling on larger models. Nice to have this low of gear and big drag on such a lightweight reel. Have had A+ experiences with Avets, so I'm confident this reel will perform. Went with the wide for line capacity issues on pelagics. Would've stuck with a narrower spool if strictly fishing large grouper and pargo. Greatly looking forward to using and abusing this thing down in Mexico this year. Have plans to use bottom fishing deep in Sea of Cortez as well as for YFT in PV and Guadalupe.

No it does not. Any Avet reel with MC will have the MC noted in the part number. The only HX model that is available with MC would be the HXJ (Narrow).
