Durable, good value. Have had these for years. They last about 5 years. I recommend rinsing them with fresh water at days end and store them out of direct sunlight, as the direct sunlight seems to make them brittle. And at the end of the year spray them down with WD40 before putting away for the winter.

do the bases fit the traxs system?

Hi Dave, According to Attwood Marine, The Attwood 5009 Heavy Duty Rod Holder w/ Combo Mount would not be compatible with trax systems. However, this could be installed on kayaks but would require a Attwood 5012-7 Heavy Duty Pro Series Rail Mount in order to install. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Would this be durable enough to handle Great Lakes salmon fishing while using a dipsy diver and a level wind reel?

We would not recommend these for dipsy diver applications. A metal rod holder would give you more peace of mind.
