This stuff is awesome. I’ve been soaking my lobster bait in it the night prior to hooping for lobsters in SoCal. It’s unusual if we don’t get at least 15 lobsters in each hoopnet. Doesn’t take long before we have our limit of legal size lobsters. We’ve even soaked sponges with the same results. Highly recommend this product.
Pros
- Works exceptionally well. Seems to put out an amazing chum scent.
Cons
- It does get the scent oil on the deck and anything around it when loading the bait cages and when pulling our hoops over the rail. A little extra cleaning the next morning but worth it.

Like i've said in other reviews, mix 1/4 of this stuff with horse oats, which you can get a 50 lb bag of online for $15 bucks, in a 5 gallon bucket with water and play sand (roughly 4 dollars) and you will have one of the best chums around. The sand sinks into the lower water column fast but the oats take longer giving you the advantage of the lower with the upper.
