These bucktails are really nice! Lots of hair so they have great action, and the price is great where you can stock up on multiple sizes and colors.

Catch Fish
June 1, 2021
Andrus constantly catch fish for me because the product is made the same way every time. Wit buck tailing the important thing is to retrieve at or near bottom with little to no bottom bumps. They always get the weights correct and the feathers are always the same density so when I cast out a 1 ounce I know how it will behave weather its fresh from Tackle Direct or so beat up from catching a ton of fish !
Pros
  • Always made the same way
Cons
  • Catch a lot of fish

Great for gulf coast bay fishing
January 9, 2020
I ordered these to test whether they will work for speckled trout and red fish along the texas gulf coast. I'm used to using soft plastics like gulp, but decided to try bucktails. The answer is that they work great. I guess they look like shrimp to the fish, but they seem to catch as many or more fish than my old method. The water is shallow, so 1/2 oz seems to work best.

Striper Getter
June 13, 2018
When worked right and with the proper trailer (ran out of pork rinds the other night - borrowed some straight Otter Tails and some split Fat Cow -- liked the Fat Cow but I think a split Otter Tail would be fine too) it produces some nice hits. Had a little trouble hooking up, but that was because of conditions and the fisherman -- not the bucktail.

Just wish the paint was a little more durable -- working rocky areas the jig head shows wear a little too quickly -- but the tails are super nice.
Pros
  • Great casting
  • Sharp hooks
  • Nice tail volume
Cons
  • Paint is not as durable as I'd like

Excellent bucktail
November 9, 2017
I use this to fish a local inlet and it catches fish. I use various sizes of the rip splitter depending how hard the current is running. I dress it with a tail usually if not too windy. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that the weight can be inconsistent.
Pros
  • strong hook
Cons
  • inconsistent weight

Great quality, no issues buying again.

Moderate amount of bucktail makes this a better casting jig. Comes with a large, quality hook, very sharp out of the package. Finish holds up reasonably well, I have no complaints with this bucktail, I regularly purchase these.
