It doesn't get better for the price

I really like this rod. I own the 9ft version.

When i contacted customer support and inquired about the action of the rod, I was told it was moderate. Upon receiving it and inspecting and casting, the tip was quite stiff so I thought I was mislead by TD. I quickly realise it was brilliant for using poppers as the tip remains stiff when not under pressure. However, once you hook into a good size fish, you really see why they rate it as a moderate action rod as it gets quite bendy. This makes it even more amazing in my books. It casts very good, excellent for working poppers but when put under pressure from a fish, you get that wonderful bend that you'd expect from a moderate rod.

I have this paired with a Penn 6000 reel and it's the perfect combination. Have already landed a 60 lb Eagle Ray with this. I'd say it's perfect for a 5000 or 6000 reel.

I recently purchased a Ande 9' surf rod. I own several Ande rods including a 11' surf rod, a couple of jigging rods , a couple of 7, spinning rods and several boat rods. I am very happy with all of my Ande rods and I thank they are a very good product for the money. Many fish have been caught on theses rods and I have enjoy using them all every season for the different types of fishing I perform.

Hard to beat

Its hard to imagine getting a better rod at this price. Well made with features of a $100+ rod easily. With this quality I'd rather get 3 different sizes of these compared to one 160$ rod.
Pros
  • The quality at this price is extremely hard to beat

SO FAR SO GOOD!

I bought the 10 ft M/H and have it delivered to my sister in Florida since I was going to visit her and planning to do some fishing. I didn't want to bring my gear so I decided to buy an affordable rod that I could use while I was there. I'm glad I did! This rod is well made and felt sturdy. I caught some pompanos on my first outing and looking forward to going back there next spring/summer to do more fishing. For $49, you surely can't beat this rod.

It is a very solid rod. The tip is very sensitive and guide is well design. It caught a 15lbs snook fish.

Thus I purchased one more rod.

For the price, I can't be happier with my Ande ATS-900A surf rod. I've had it for years. It's tough enough. The action is somewhere faster than moderate. It's faster than an identically sized Ugly Stik which I have.

I bought the 7' rod for slinging large live baits and weight to big female Snook cruising up the coast down on the Gulf. I'll sometimes set it up to launch large 2oz plastics as well. This rod is great for heavy weights and short distances. I love it!
