Had to drill the sleeve out for it to take .095 sized line. When i e-mailed tackledirect to make sure that I haven't made a mistake I never received an answer. I guess they don't care

Good crips as usual
January 20, 2016
Got these to crimp the 49 strand AFW 275lb cable for my Yo-Zuri Bonitas. I double crimped the connections and then covered them with glue lined heat shrink to keep the burrs and loose wires to a minimum. The crimps hold well and were not too difficult to close with my small hand crimpers. Thanks to Tackledirect for putting in the cable description which crimp to use for it. Made life a lot easier.

How do I know what size crimp to use on 40-60 lb leader wire and should I use a single or double barrel sleeve? Mostly will be used for surf fishing. Also can standard crimping pliers work on both types of sleeves?
1 Answer
For 40-60lb. wire, I would go with Jinkai sleeves sizes J and K, depending on what size wire you use. I would use the J for heavier wire, and the K for lighter wire. As far as crimps go, the standard crimps will be fine for most types of sleeves, including the Jinkai and AFW.

i want to use AFW coated surflon 135 pound with a diameter of.041 inch. is 4f8 double barrel sleeve with an inside diameter of.044 inch the correct sleeve for me?
1 Answer
According to AFW you would not need anything bigger than the 4F8 sleeve for the size line your looking to crimp.
