Designed to jig and bottomfish, Alutecnos' Gorilla 12C is the smallest reel in the company's lineup. The silver-anodized lever-drag reel provides 40 pounds of drag thanks to two carbon-composite discs. The 12C weighs in at 24 ounces and offers a 4.4:1 gear ratio. The reel holds 620 yards of 12-pound mono, 450 yards of 20-pound mono or 345 yards of 50-pound braid.

CAN YOU SURF CAST WITH THIS REEL?

You could if you wanted to, but I think you would be better off using a reel with cast control like an Avet.
