The Ahi RSB-800 Sabiki Stick Bait Catcher Rod is made for fishing with Sabiki style bait rigs. This saltwater rod is made with only one line feeder guide. This allows the bait rig to be threaded into the rod blank. This feeder guide removes the hassle of tangling and untangling of the rig. 3-piece design.

Perfect for sabiki

The 8ft is better than the 7ft as it allows the full length of the sabiki to be stored nicely. The three pieces also allow for easy travel.

Good quality for the money.

Good quality Sabiki rod, for the price you pay. Perfect for catching small bait. I’m not sure how it would hold up if you accidentally caught a larger fish on it.

Sabiki Pole
January 27, 2019
Not all sabiki poles are the same. This one is three piece, which makes it easier to thread. It is also 8 foot, thus the longest out there. Length is important because the packaged sabiki rigs are often as long as or even longer than eight feet. The whole purpose of a sabiki pole is to hide the hooks of the multi-hook bait sabiki rig.

Also, it is no secret that a longer pole can cast farther.
Pros
  • Length
  • Three piences
Cons
  • THe nozzle is the same diameter as the prior models on the market. There is still no know sabiki pole that can handle the larger sabiki riggs.

Can a spinning reel be used with the RSB-800?

No, usually sabiki rods made for spinning reels have a large single guide this one does not.

I read in the comments above that a spinning reel wasn't recommended for this rod.  However, a more recent response recommended a Stradic reel for it.  Can you clarify if a spinning reel will work wellk with this rod?
1 Answer
Hi Steve, Ahi RSB-800 Sabiki Stick Bait Catcher Rod would be best with a conventional or casting reel not a Spinning reel for this particular rod. Please let us know if theres anything else we can assist you with. Tight Lines.

Hi Luc, According to Ahi Fishing, The Ahi RSB-800 Sabiki Stick Bait Catcher Rod uses a plastic smooth material called Delren that is used in the tip of the rod. Whats the line in lb test & weight ratings?

Im in Monterey California and we catch sardines & a bit bigger mackerels  w/ sabiki. I wondered if this pole is strong enough.

1 Answer
Jack,

The Ahi Sabiki Stick Bait Catcher rod RSB-800 is not rated, but should be able to handle up to 30lb line and bait that is up to around 1-2 pounds each.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
